Sunday sometimes gets a bad rap for it’s closeness to Monday. Sunday is one of my favorite days of the week. I love the low-key savoring of weekend activities. The fun always seems to start earlier in the day, there’s usually delicious food and great company, and then you’re in bed before anything too crazy can happen. This Sunday I attended Echo Park’s 36th annual Lotus Festival with my aunt and uncle and my pseudo niece (when you and your cousin are both only children, you change titles). I had never seen a tall lotus before (first and third picture), I might be changing my favorite flower.. Please don’t let the zinnias or peonies know. I wish I had brought my Canon, but these iPhone pictures will just have to do. The festival also had all kinds of vendors, as well as live music. Petra and I went for a paddle boat ride around the lake, which was way more work than I was planning to do, but it was a great view. I think one of my favorite things about LA is going to be all the little weekend festivities!
