Here are the prompts:
Today, think about what you know for sure.
Make a list of things you’d like your daughter or son, or a good friend to know.
- Ask the person closest to you to meet for coffee and share your favorite thing you know about them.
After rewriting this about 20 times I have realized I know, very, very, very, very, .. VERY ..little. So here are the really solid, I am 100% sure, things I know.
I know my Mom’s loves me. Yes.. Well, duh.. She’s your Mom. But really guys, she really loves me. It is a very sad thing to think that some people, more like a lot of people, don’t know this kind of totally awesome love. Even people who are really great, smart, kind, loving people, don’t love their kids as much they could. I’m probably bias, but I am convinced that my Mom did it right. Not to talk myself up or anything …. but I’m pretty great.
I know there are lots of people who need help, and not enough people are taking the time to help them. I am making an effort. I want to be a person who helps people everyday. Who encourages, and motivates, and listens. I know these are qualities of people who do more than just what is necessary.
I know I spend too much time worrying about what others think, and not enough time around people who I would never have to worry about what they might think of me.
I know laughing is truly the worlds strongest medicine.
I would like my good friends and my future daughter or son to know that loving people, helping people, not worrying, and laughing a lot, are what make life worth living. Just do all of those things. Like Nike, Just Do IT!
